CASENITY.com – The wait for Blue Box Season 2 is getting shorter, and fans now have a clearer picture of what the next chapter will bring. A new main visual and trailer have been unveiled, accompanied by the announcement of the opening and ending theme songs. The second season is scheduled to premiere on October 4, 2026.

The newly released material highlights the emotional atmosphere that has become one of the series' defining characteristics. Rather than focusing solely on competition, Blue Box continues to combine athletic ambition with the complicated feelings developing between its young characters.

Singer aiko will perform the new opening theme, titled “Anata no Hana no Iro.” Meanwhile, the ending song, “blue in,” will be performed by the band elsewhere kikou. Both tracks are featured in the newly released promotional trailer, giving viewers an early taste of the musical direction for the upcoming season.

The announcement is particularly significant because music plays an important role in establishing the mood of Blue Box. The combination of energetic sports scenes and quieter emotional moments gives the anime a distinctive rhythm, allowing its romance to develop alongside the characters' personal goals.

Season 2 will also introduce changes on the production side. Electric Circus is handling the animation, with Daisuke Sako serving as director. Several important members of the creative staff are returning, including series composer Yuko Kakihara, character designer Miho Tanino, and composer Takashi Omama.

The change in studio and director gives the sequel a fresh production identity while retaining key creative figures from the previous installment. This combination could help the second season preserve the atmosphere established earlier while presenting the story with a slightly different visual approach.

At the center of the story are Taiki Inomata, a badminton player, and Chinatsu Kano, a talented basketball player whom Taiki admires. Their relationship gradually develops while both continue working toward their respective sporting ambitions.

The first season established the emotional foundation between the two characters, while also introducing other relationships and rivalries. Season 2 is therefore expected to explore how their feelings evolve as their sporting careers become increasingly demanding.

Blue Box is based on the manga written and illustrated by Kouji Miura, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2021. The anime adaptation first premiered in October 2024 and its first season ran for two consecutive cours.
